I’ve been using Bonide Captain Jack’s Neem Oil in my garden, and it has worked wonders! The 32 oz ready-to-use spray makes it incredibly convenient, no mixing required—just spray and go. It’s truly a multi-purpose solution, serving as a fungicide, insecticide, and miticide all in one.
I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my plants since I started using it. It effectively controls pests like aphids and mites, while also treating common fungal issues without harming the plants. Plus, it’s great for organic gardening, which is important to me, as I prefer natural products for my vegetable and flower garden.
The spray bottle is easy to handle, and the coverage is excellent. If you’re looking for an organic, hassle-free way to keep your garden healthy and thriving, I highly recommend Captain Jack’s Neem Oil.

Used this for my plant that had some kind of white pest and I tried other methods but would keep coming back or it would hurt the plant. Since the first time I used it, most of the pest was gone and the plant is happy, looks great and growing more than ever! Very easy to use and will not harm your plants. It is very quick acting and easy to clean. Package came well with no leakage.

It’s that time of the year where my houseplants need to winter inside our home. This Neem Oil is great for that purpose!

I keep two indoor greenhouses and a spare room that’s full of plants (mostly Philodendrons), and I use this product every time I bring a new plant home to prevent mites and other parasites from infecting my plants.
I spray every leaf thoroughly, then quarantine the new plant for at least a week before putting it in with any of my others, and it hasn’t failed me yet.
Great product!

I liked that it promised to kill Japanese beetles.
I did not like that it did NOT kill Japanese beetles.
It was my first experience with Japanese beetles.
The label assumes that I already know how this product works. I thought it would kill on contact. I was very disgusted when the heap of startlinig, to me, big shiny bugs on my plants kept on eating and mating as I soaked them them with product. I am accustomed to Spectricide that kills on contact. I even got out a can of Raid and killed some bugs.
I “yelled” ( in writing) to Bonide customer service. The customer service person seemed very personally offended. Instead of calmly explaining how this product works, he was sarcastic and defensive.
I started to return the product. But I kept reading. Bonide still does not explain to a person outside the knowledgeable organic gardening community, that this is different. I checked the plants that I soaked in neem oil and saw few or no beetles. But infestation was less on unsprayed plants, so I can’t determine if the oil was effective. I did remove the very fragrant roses from the rosebush, maybe that’s what attracted them. Maybe the beetle frenzy is ending.
I decided that organic gardeners know more about this than I do. The plants I sprayed are not harmed. Japanese beetles are alarming to see, but I’m not sure if they kill anything.
So I’m going to continue to try neem oil to see if any of its claims are true. For sure I don’t want systemic insecticides for roses. We have uncountable bees and butterflies in our milkweed so I don’t want to mass kill every insect anymore.
Maybe neem oil is better than nothing. I might try to find a company that explains itself better. For example, Scotts/Roundup customer service is extremely helpful. They have real customer support. I’ll see if there is a seller of organics like neem oil that offer guidance on the use of their products.

My philodendron had a few mealy bugs, but my pothos was riddled with them, so I got Captain Jack’s and doused the suckers. The next day, the philo was completely pest free, and the pothos only had three bugs. These vining plants are a nightmare to treat, so I’m sure I just missed a spot. I am so glad I got this! I love that it’s natural, chemical-free, and safe for pets. If you’re just doing a few spritzes, it’s good, but with how much I had to spray on these two plants, it was stinky, although temporarily. I’ve had them outside to get summer sun, and they’re still pest free! Worth the smell for a day.

Something had been eating my sun patients and I wanted to use something safe and natural to protect them. I had heard of Neem oil before but never tried it. This worked fantastic! I made sure to use it every week like the directions suggested and my flowers rebloomed without getting eaten! The container was large and has lasted at least half the season, but I still have plenty left. Beautiful flowers can be a pricey investment sometimes and I wanted to protect that, so this was well worth the price. The nozzle is adjustable so you can do a broad or direct spray or have it off completely. There is a strange scent to it, but that fades very quickly. I’m pleased with this and will continue to purchase as needed.
