$102.69
- fabric-and-synthetic
- Made in Germany
- Anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed / Upper: nubuck leather, oiled / Lining: suede / Sole: EVA. Details: strap with two individually adjustable metal pin buckles. Made in Germany.
- Upper: nubuck leather, oiled. This high-quality product is very gentle on the skin, and it’s comfortable while also being very durable.
- Footbed material: Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning. The deep heel cup, longitudinal arch support, stability, transverse arch support, raised toe bar help circulation, grip, and toe.
- Outsole: EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.
- Narrow (N): Measure the width of your foot across the broadest point by standing on a ruler to give you an idea of the width you need. Narrow is ideal for a slim or slender foot with a small toe box. Designed for narrow feet. (Women’s U.S. widths AA-B and Men’s U.S. widths C-D).

I took these with me to SE Asia and the walkways here are like hiking. Rocky, uneven, sharp objects – it’s hard to imagine if you’re not here, but it would be accurate to say I’ve used them for hiking a mile daily for almost a year.
I can’t believe how they’ve held up. This is beyond what I’d expect from any shoe.
The only thing they’ve needed is to wash all the dust off and rub them with coconut oil (it’s what they have here) and they look good as new.
Whatever the material is holds the sheen from the oil well — I’ve only needed to do it twice in all this time.
The design also gives you excellent sure footing except when wet. When my foot sort of slides around in the shoe.

I’m no shoe expert, but over the decades I have had more than a few pairs, and Birkenstocks are unusual (unique, in my experience) in having a highly sculpted foot bed, which amounts to a built-in arch support, the kind of thing you might get from a foot doctor to put in a pair of shoes. As a result, they feel different than any other shoe I ever had, and they support my feet unlike any other off-the-shelf shoe. Plus they are amazingly light, because their soles are made of cork, with a thin layer of hard rubber on the bottom.
I had a pair of them once about 40 years ago and I wore them until they fell apart, but my feet were in in great shape then, so I didn’t feel the need of paying the rather high price to replace them. Lately, I’ve had to go to a physical therapist for help relieving pain in my somewhat ancient feet, and it was the physical therapist who suggested that a pair of Birkenstocks might be therapeutic. I took his advice, and I now wear whenever I am home (I live in New York City, where it is now much too cold and wet to wear them outdoors.) I’m sure that come spring I will wear them indoors and out, and I am confident that my feet will thank me for it.
And this time I will know that I can’t wear them when it is raining or there is a lot of water on the ground, because the cork soles aren’t built for wet weather. I expect that if I keep them dry, they will last quite a bit longer than my first pair.

I’m a fan of Birkenstock to begin with but this is my first pair made with EVA. It’s a very lightweight man-made material that feels a little like crocks but less squishy, cushioning but more firm, texture is smooth and soft on the skin. I haven’t worn them yet for any extensive length of time but out of the box the quality, style, feel and fit is great – as expected from Birkenstock! I normally wear a size 7.5 or 8 in women’s or a “big kid” 6.5 in sneakers and the size 38 in Birkenstock are perfect for me. The listing says women’s “Toe Post Sandals Flip Flops” but the actual name of this style is Gizeh and they are authentic. I was a little confused by the sellers listing because they mix the various materials available all in one listing. So, unless you know what you are buying you might not get the material you expected. I’ll do my best to explain the materials (but you might want to go to the official website for detailed info). Birkenstock makes the Gizeh in a natural leather upper with a cork sole (most expensive), the Birko-Flor which is a man-made upper and a cork sole (mid-price), and the EVA in which the upper/lining/sole is one-piece molded Ethylene Vinyl Acetate aka EVA (lowest cost). Not only is this a great option in terms of cost but it’s also something that you can get wet and still wear comfortably as they are waterproof and washable. It’s made of a “high-quality, very light, elastic material with very good cushioning”. This EVA material is a great option for a kids summer sandal since they’re affordable waterproof. But also for adults as they have a high quality look (they don’t look cheap at all like most man-made materials do) and can be worn with a dress or as house shoes. I highly recommend!

I left off one star only because the materials these sandals are made out of really don’t justify the $56 price. In the EVA, they should be $30-$35 IMO.
Compared to the same sandals with the cork sole and leather/faux leather upper, these seem slightly bigger, especially around the top of the foot. I have the strap on my regular Gizeh sandals at the 2nd hole from the end (2nd loosest setting) because I have a high instep. But I had to buckle these EVA Gizehs on the tightest setting. Those with a lower instep might feel that they fit a little loosely. I usually wear a 7.5 C and I think I’d find these a little long if my foot were a 7 instead of 7.5.
What I love about these is that they are the only flip-flop type sandal I’ve ever worn that is actually comfortable. They don’t provide quite the arch support of the cork soles, but they beat flip flops hands down and the thong between my toes does not irritate them at all. I’ll even accept the foot farts I sometimes get when walking in these.

Ich trage meine Schuhe in 37,5
Zuerst in 38 bestellt, diese waren etwas zu groß in der Länge. Erneut in 37 geordert,.. Perfekt!! ✌️😃
Reklamation verlief ohne Probleme!
Kostenloses Rücksendetikett sowie das Geld sofort erhalten!
Super Service!

I use only these for about 6 months a year and they are very comfortable and light. They were much nicer though until about 4 years (?) ago when the material changed. Before that they were bouncy but now they are hard from when they are new.

These sandals are my all-time favorites! They are plastic which took a little bit to get used to the feeling but soon I realized that they were amazing. They are waterproof so they can be washed in the sink or hosed off, they are so light that you can hold both with one finger for beach walking, they fit so well that they like extensions to your feet… don’t fall off. Very comfy too. I don’t want any other sandals. I highly recommend them!

Love these! Super cute and super comfy! They’re something I can wear to the pool but also with a dress. 🙂
The only down side is it seems that the Eva’s run large. I have a pair of the leather and cork “florida” and they’re a 39. I ordered a 39 in this shoe and they were a size bigger for sure. I returned them (which was SUPER easy and that’s why I’m still giving them five stars) and ordered a 38 and they fit just like my 39 “florida”!
(The pictures I attached are of a 39 “florida” and a 38 “EVA gizeh” and they fit the same.)

This is a super comfortable, lightweight water/everyday summer sandal that just looks classic; the price is amazing for a brand & more useful being able to go into water with. Size is a bit big as I got a 7 , I’m a 7.5 so it fits more like an 8 but by any means it’s not falling off & I’d much rather sandals a bit roomy than toes falling off. Durable as well, loveee these!
