I burn through running shoes relatively fast – given they are my go-to’s immediately upon returning home from work on weekdays, and unless I am hiking, working in the yard, or other outdoor activities that demand it, these are my favorites throughout the weekend.
I used many different brands and kinds over many decades.
As far as cost versus benefit, I am one happy customer. These fit me great (I use an 11), and have a bit more room overall than I’d have anticipated, but true to size for me. I have a low volume foot, so adding an orthotic did not require me to remove the included insole. So, for those of you who have a low volume foot or are in need of extra arch support, keep that in mind (that you will likely need to add another insole).
Overall fit and finish is fantastic! These shoes are incredibly comfortable and after wearing for a full 8 hours straight, my feet feel great. Lots of cushioning and support, with just the right feel, in my opinion, as a walking or jogging shoe.
On the negative side, all I have to offer is that the size and appearance of the mid-sole is a tiny bit jarring due to its size and look, but overall it’s balanced and just feels great.
I love that it has full but thin rubber sole, so it’ll last a bit longer. I really do recommend these.

The most important thing to know about these shoes is they run big. I got the same size I wear in New Balance, and these are at least a half-size large. As seen in my photo, the outer at the base of the tongue is cinched a bit when I wear them. The ankle is also a bit tall on me.
These are comfortable immediately, they have a lot of cushion. Aside from the sizing issues, I can walk a couple miles in these and experience no discomfort underfoot.
These are lined with a poly knit that is the type to wear out faster than most alternatives. The insole is also lined with a poly knit; it’s a basic insole. I don’t expect these to have the longevity of more expensive shoes. They’re a much lower price, and it remains to be seen whether these are a better cost per mile.
They look good. The colors blend well and match a lot of outfits.

I have a bunion on one foot, drop foot on the other, and bad knees. And I try to walk 2 miles every day. Why is this important to my review? First, they are quite tight when you first put them on. I take a size 10.5 and that’s what I ordered. They were a bit tight and pushed on my bunion. but after walking for a while, they loosened up some and didn’t hurt my bunion any more than other sneakers. Because of their shape, with the toe curved upward, they were good for my drop foot, which usually gives me a problem walking. The shock absorption and cushioning really helps my knees. They’re interesting for 2 reasons: they make you feel like you’re walking downhill, and they seemed to increase my stride length (my watch measures distance by steps X stride length; my 2 mile walk today took fewer steps than normal). Overall, they are pretty good walking shoes. If you have any of the problems I have, you should try these walking shoes.

I am a shoe collector…not that saying this means anything remotely important, but I say it to establish that with all the shoes I currently own, I am very aware of what comfort means to me. It is quite important as I get older, too.
I own quite a few pairs of fairly expensive shoes that I would’ve made serious wagers ahead of buying that they would be crazy comfortable only to discover I would have lost that bet. I have tried On Cloud many times as plenty of my friends have insisted how crazy soft and comfortable they are. So I tried on 4 different pairs at the local shoe store only to discover (in my opinion) that On Cloud shoes are ridiculously over rated. They aren’t anywhere as comfortable as everyone keeps insisting – at least not to me, and to be honest, that is really all that matters. So I see these Nortiv 8 shoes and after reading a few reviews, decided to take the plunge and get a pair…then I noticed they make a pair that is kind of a cross between Hoka and On Cloud and that’s what I went with.
I am thrilled that I did. Instantly, they were more comfortable than ANY previous On Cloud shoes I had ever tried on. Great cushioning but not too much – which is a difficult spot to find these days. Since everyone is different, from feet size to how much they weigh and this factors in heavily, so finding that sweet spot is easier said than done. The Nortiv 8’s seem to fit that bill rather nicely.
I noticed several people who said that the shoe sizes tend to fit a bit small but I ordered my usual size (11.5) and they fit just right. Your experience may vary.
Honestly, for the price I am more than pleased.

When I saw the pictures of these shoes, I thought they looked quite similar to the very popular HOKA Bondi line of running shoes, which are 3x more expensive. With them in hand, I’m pleased to say they fit and feal pretty similar to the HOKAs, which have been my go-to running shoe for the past few years.
These are very cushy, almost bouncy, shock-absorbing shoes. The looks, with the tall lower section, are a matter of taste. I like them fine, but I know there are some who find this style of shoe to look oversized.
My only concerns is how long they will hold up, but honestly, even expensive running shoes don’t hold up terribly long. I typically get six to nine months before they start to feel dead. At a third of the price, I think there’s a great chance these will deliver excellent value in comparison.
