First let me start with what I like: It’s easy to fill, quiet and really helps. What I don’t like is that it isn’t easy to clean. Sure the main reservoir is easy to clean. But where the mist comes out is not, after a few months there is pink bacteria where the mist comes out and is difficult to clean. No matter what I do I am still unable to remove the pink bacteria.
The result is that I am looking for another humidifier that allows me to complete clean it.

UPDATED: A month later and I’m still happy with this. I did a “test” to see how clean I could keep it by using filtered water from the refrigerator and a cleaning “fish” that I found on Amazon that has carbon in it and it floats around in the humidifier to help clean the water. I also have a water softener. After nearly 1 month of continuous 24/7 use, I finally cleaned it. I was surprised at how it barely had any slime and funk in it at all. Still a little funky, but not bad for running 24/7. My previous expensive one had to be cleaned daily or it it would be slimy and funky every day and it was hard to clean. This little unit is easier to clean, but it doesn’t seem to come apart quite as much as I expected by the description. Still easy to clean and only a few spots that required a tiny brush to get behind to clean. I replaced the filter and the little fish still had half its carbon in it, so I left that floating in the tank. I’m pleased with this little unit.
Original: I’m very pleased with this humidifier. I had a $200 from SI and it was always moldy, hard to clean and it had annoying lights I couldn’t shut off at night. This Levoit unit is basically 1/5 of the price of my old unit, 1/3 the size and puts out just as much humidity as my old one AND it seems to last twice as long on one tank. I’m very happy with this little thing. It is easy to take apart for cleaning and I love that the tank is a top load. I can just fill up a bottle from the refrigerator and dump it in the top. I run my humidifier 24/7 on low in our bedroom and I really noticed a HUGE difference in my skin during the week my old humidifier broke and before I got this one. I’m very impressed with this unit, especially for the price and the size. The absolute best part though is that there are NO LIGHTS on this unit. None! I don’t have to put a pillow or tape over the light to block it out at night. No lights. I love it.

Met all my criteria of easy to clean + top filling + simple + under 4L. I originally tried a larger Honeywell you have to flip upside down to put the water in and it’s too much for my tiny apartment bedroom. The only thing that would make it better is a timer, but I’ve just figured out how long a full tank lasts when turned to max (~8hrs) and go by that. It makes a noticeable difference for my sinuses and skin and at reducing static.
After about 4 weeks of using it every day I gave it a clean. All the parts that you might think “oh this is a bit tricky” pop off, it’s very sensibly designed and in theory the top reservoir can go into the dishwasher. You might need a narrow brush to really get in the corners. I’ve heard people complain about “dust” but I haven’t noticed any. I fill mine with filtered water just to reduce the amount of cleaning.
It’s more quiet than my furnace or a fan, but if you live somewhere dead silent you might hear a small humming noise. The only light a little red led that comes on when it’s empty and automatically shut off. There doesn’t seem to be any leakage unless you really tip it to the side.

I used it in the bedroom when I had a bad cough. Very helpful. Easy to use. Like the fact that you can bring the water to the humidifier instead of having to take it to the sink to fill it. Easily filled. Easy to clean. Can direct the flow of steam. One thing, though, it is a bit small (which I happen to like due to space concerns) so I it may not make a big impact on a large space. Better in a smaller room or in close proximity to you if you’re in a larger room.
