I have always had at least one dog and I’m used to coping with some dog hair, but I’ve never allowed dogs on the furniture and I also think that my dogs all had hair that was fairly easy to remove.
Fast forward to 2012, and I am in a second marriage with 3 kids. The last “not on furniture” dog died and we got a new dog named Zara. Hubs grew up in a house that allowed dogs on the furniture so when we saw that that Zara was able to jump on the furniture we had to make a decision. We did it the good ol’ American way and put it to a vote. Hubs and all three girls voted to let the dog on the furniture, much to my dismay. Worse, Zara’s hair is like nothing I’ve seen before… once it gets onto cloth, most of the time it clings to the point that the hairs have to be pulled out individually. Vacuuming, tape-style lint rollers, a Gleener depiller, velcro balls in the washer/dryer, Bounce pet hair dryer sheets … they all leave a lot behind.
Fast forward to 2020 and not only am I at my wits’ end with the dog hair, but all three kids are grown women and none of us likes that we can’t sit on the furniture without having to get out a hand-held vacuum and vacuum the dog hair off the back of each others’ pants.
Fast forward one last time to last week when I finally decided to get this Chom Chom gadget. I am ASTOUNDED at how well it works. I think the secret is with the little squeegee on the roller. I’ve tried using a squeegee on carpet before and it really does work, but it is unwieldy, cannot easily be done in more than one direction, and it must be done with a vacuum nearby to gather whatever gets pulled up. Also, then the squeegee ends up with pet hair on it so it needs to be cleaned before it gets put back into service for cleaning glass. With the Chom Chom, you get the benefit of the squeegee, but since it is on the roller, it is easier to do back/forth strokes. And then as for how the dog hair gets off the roller and into the hair collection chamber… maybe it is sorcery? I have no idea how that works but IT DOES!!
In full honesty, I still have to do extra strokes to get all of Zara’s hair (it gets our other dog’s “easy hair” on the first swipe), but the amount that the Chom Chom picks up relative to the number of passes I have to make over the fabric is unbelievable!
Once the chamber is full, I use a handheld vac to remove the hair and then it is ready to go again!
The only downsides that I can see are:
– Some dog hair gets trapped in the side hinges of the door to the collection chamber and has to be pulled out with the fingers. It is possible that if I cleaned it before it got SO FULL, that problem would go away, but we just have SO MUCH dog hair and the gadget is so effective that I would be emptying every couple of minutes.
– The button to open the collection chamber door is right where I place my thumb for strength so I tend to pop it open when I am doing the actual rolling task (I seem to have this problem with a lot of products that have a button in the center, so that might be a “me” problem.)
– The chom chom is 7.5″ wide which is excellent for cleaning furniture, but a narrower version would be better for clothing, especially when the dog hair gets on the clothes while they’re being worn and it would be impractical to remove the clothes (e.g., if you get dog hair on your black pants when you ride in your co-worker’s car to lunch during the workday.)
BOTTOM LINE: I have had this little gadget for less than a week and have already recommended it to several people and wrote this review while I was looking to see if they had a narrower model for my car/office/coat closet. I wish I had owned this years ago, and I would 100% buy it again.

This is the best pet hair remover without having to take the vacuum out of the closet! It’s easy and effective! I was shocked by the amount of hair I was able to get off my couch in less than one minute! Bought another one for the car and one for my office! Would definitely recommend!

This is the best little tool for pet hair removal. I have two cats and to get rid of hair on furniture I take Chom Chom, roll it back and forth on the furniture and it picks up all the shed hair. So easy, you don’t need to pull out the vacuum. It works so much better than the sticky rollers. You can see how much pet hair it picks up when you empty it. I am very happy with this purchase.

A few friends had mentioned CHOM CHOM, highly recommending it. I don’t immediately jump on it, I thought it was a gimmick. Boy was I wrong
The incredible results with this, I use it on floor carpets, EVEN AFTER HEAVILY VACCUMMING, stairs etc…. It’s just gross to think of the years of dog fur I’ve had sitting and I’m such a neat freak.
Very well priced. Easy to use. Appears well built.
Truly magic at your fingertips.
Highly recommend, btw as does everyone

Update: I haven’t adopted a new fur baby, but I have found another great use for the chomchom!!
After another highly stressful day, I ended up eating something that kept crumbing, in bed. I know crumbs on sheets! Yeck! If I swept them off the bed, they’d just land on the carpet & I’d have to vacuum, but I have extremely sensitive skin & knew if I slept on any crumbs, my skin would protest with big blotchy hives, so I was thinking about what I could use when I spotted the chomchom. Yes folks- it is an excellent crumb gatherer!!! If you can’t tolerate (literally my skin’s case) crumbs in the bed, but have days where all you want to do is relax & destress in bed with food: might as well get a chomchom- even if you don’t have a fur baby- because most people have to deal with crumbs & lint daily 🙁
I bought 2 chomchoms when they were on sale- one for my mom’s 4 cats & 1 for my cat. Sadly, my cat was infected by the vet techs not washing their hands or even gloving up before prodding into her incisions with their bare fingers, so I had kept mine unopened until I found a black sweater too small for me, but the perfect size for my mother.
Washing & drying that sweater wasn’t a problem, but the smattering of lint all over it had to be taken care of before I could bring it to my mother. I was looking for my old lint roller from years ago or was thinking of using packing tape, when I passed the chomchom, still in it’s cardboard wrapping & thought hmm, might as well see how effective this is.
Ironically, when I saw the chomchom & how it worked, I had a flashback to about a decade ago when they had a much smaller version of this, with cheaper felt(?- the material that traps the fur, hair, lint, etc) that I had bought & was thrilled with, until it stopped working after the 5th use. This is 5 times bigger, with better quality material & picked up the lint in no time on that sweater. I was actually having so much fun & satisfaction in seeing this linty, snowy black sweater turn charcoal black, that I didn’t realize I had it on top of a material that kept adding more lint to the back of the sweater, every time I flipped it. After 20 minutes of weird lint removing fever (I don’t bother with a few pieces of lint on the average, so I blame the fabulousness of the chomchom), I started calming down & that’s when I realized how long I had been removing lint & finally looked under the sweater to discover why I kept getting lint on the side I had cleared.
I put 4 stars because even though my hands are tiny, or maybe the fact that the little recess/button is in the middle of the chomchom, I kept accidentally touching it or something was making it constantly flip open & I’d have to close it to continue using it. If it happened just a couple of times, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but in that 20 minutes of lint removing fever, that button/recess made it pop open over 9 times (I stopped counting after 9).
Maybe people with bigger hands won’t have that problem or maybe I have a defective one, but either way this is great & reusable & if you spend way too much on lint rollers, you might find buying this an affordable investment because it’s reusable, less waste going in overstrewn landfills, & the large surface makes this a dream.
I’ll update this after I adopt another furbaby from the shelter.

This is the most useful and effective product you need when trying to keep your living space clean if you have a cat. It works extremely well, no wonder it is patented.

This things amazing. It really works you just roll it up and down over and over on the material you want to take the hair off and it works almost as good at a vacuum. So if you’re short on time or someone is coming over and you’re panic cleaning, you don’t have time to vaccum this thing is a life saver, totally amazing. Makes your couch look new. 10/10 would recommend. Way better than the sticky rollers.

Anybody with pugs knows that their fur is not like regular dog fur. It buries itself into the fibers of clothes instead of just laying on top of the fibers. This means you have to go over it many times with a regular tape roller remover and do it from multiple directions. And even then it’s likely you’ll still have to pull some out by hand.
This roller gets it out so much faster and tons more easily than the tape rollers! I have some other brush type things that use the same type of red stuff to remove the hair and they also work great. The advantage of this particular roller is that it has the built in feature of removing the hair from the roller and depositing it in the little tray so that cleanup is easy.
