Birkenstock Womens Shoes Men’s Arizona Soft Footbed Sandals

They are super comfortable and the right size

Bought these for my 83-year-old father-in-law and he loves to wear them in the house as an alternative to slippers. It took him about a week or two to get accustom to it and to have his feet mold to the shoes, but he loves them and wears them every day and asked for another pair for the holidays.

I’ve worn Birkenstocks for more than 40 years. I own three pairs at a time: one for going out; one for around the house; one for working in the garden. As each pair ages, I pass it down to the next level of use until the sole of the garden pair has worn all the way through (this process takes a number of years!) and then I toss out that pair and buy a new dress pair. I wear no other kind of shoes. I love the support, the ease of use (they slip on; they grip; they slip off only when you want them to!) and most of all the comfort!

DAYS LATER: I just now read all the negative reviews. . . . .No, these are not the same as the original Birks, but they also don’t cost as much. I have no problem with the straps, or the fit (contrary to the reviews by other users), or the indentation, etc. etc. I’ve been wearing my new pair for several weeks now, and still have no complaints. I chose these BECAUSE they are cheaper than the other Birkenstock models, so I did not expect the same materials. They fit great, however, and I would buy them again (barring any unforeseen developments. . . .)

I already own a pair of Birkenstock Arizona’s that I have had since the mid 90s. They are like a comfortable pair of old slippers. I have had the soles replaced once and, three years ago, had the footbed replaced. They continue to be very comfortable sandals. That is why I purchased the pair of Arizona’s I am reviewing here. First, they were a steal for the purchase price, less than $64. Second, they fit very well right out of the box. Third, they are made of the Birkenflor, simulated leather, and it really does feel like soft suede leather while also being more eco-friendly than a leather sandal. Finally, if you break them in properly, Birkenstock sandals last virtually a lifetime. Pay attention to the wear on the sole and that is all you’ll ever have to replace. The Arizona’s are comfortable, fit well, look great, and synch up with whatever you want to wear with them, trousers, slacks, dressier pants, jeans, or cargo shorts. No matter. I happen to reside in Arizona and so sandals are standard footwear more of the year here than elsewhere. My Birks get plenty of use and have stood the test. Great sandal! Great price!

These are good sandals. Be sure to go to the Birkenstock website and study the sizes, including the downloadable sizing diagram, if you have not worn these before. The quality and construction remain great as it has for years. My only complaint is that these sandals run rather wide, even the narrow ones which I ordered. This can be compensated somewhat by drilling an additional hole in the straps to make them tighter. For best fit Birkenstock should make these in a narrow (A/B), medium (C/D) and wide (E). My usual shoe size is 11 1/2 A (mens). I bought the 45 Narrow, which fits like a men’s 11 1/2 C. Since these are unisex, most women will certainly want the narrow. Even men with a medium width foot will do best with the narrow, too.
