Birkenstock Women’s Arizona Shearling Sandals

I have two pairs of these plastic Birkenstocks and wear them all of the time. I have this black pair, and another in a gold tone. I take them on most of my out of town trips because you can wash them easily and even wear socks with them if it’s cold. But they’re a great alternative to slippers when you need something that can get wet. I’ve read that they can shrink if left out in the heat or sunshine, so I’m careful about that. But I wear them out in the Arizona sun and they are fine when you’re wearing them. I’ve taken them to Hawaii multiple times and had them on a covered porch with no problems. They do sometimes suction on my arch and you can hear it when you walk when they do that and that can be a bit awkward…lol! But the more I wear them, the less that has happened. Not sure if it’s how I’ve learned to walk with them on, or if the plastic is slightly worn a bit. That does seem to be a design flaw that could be looked at by the company, for sure! But I love that they are lightweight, easy to travel with and they seem to hold up to a lot of wear and tear. The buckles adjust and stay put, and I like that feature as well.

I bought the narrow width in a size 40 because that’s what my other Birks are, and they fit perfectly. The straps are adjustable. I have them on the last hole for my flat feet, which makes them stay on just fine. I like the monochrome black look too. I’ve been breaking them in inside, but I cannot wait to wear them outside at the lake this summer! I don’t anticipate tripping over them and breaking off the front part like others have said just because they fit like a glove. Maybe the others should have sized down? I guess only time will tell. The price was right too.

Update! I’ve now had these shoes for over six months and I wear them literally every day. I love them that much! They are still in great shape, save for some obvious wear on the bottoms from use. I have still never caught the toe on the ground while walking. I lovingly refer to the shoes as my ‘Birkencrocs’ as they are just as comfy, supportive, and durable, but soo much cuter than Crocs imo. And they float!

I’ve had these shoes for, forever and boy are they great. If you see me around and not at work I’m probably wearing these. I’m all for sustainability and boy are these great for that. I’m considering buying a new pair for next summer because mine are about all worn out. I love how I can just throw these in the tub, or spray them down with a hose when they get dirty or gross.

These are my third pair of Birkenstocks. I don’t wear sneakers or shoes around the house and needed more support than your average fuzzy slipper. On the warmer days i use them with no socks, and on colder days i wear them with thick cozy socks. Either way, they are very comfortable and great to use inside. Quality of these sandals are great, I’ve had no issues with them. I’ve used them outdoors as well a few times and, again, overall comfy and a great sandal. I really think you cant go wrong with them. Now, as with all Birkenstocks, they are not the most “flattering” sandal but honestly they are so comfortable that I don’t care. They match with everything you own – jeans, shorts, skirts, sweatpants, etc and if you really want to “style” them up, you can watch a YouTube video on how to make them “trendy”.
