These shoes are so comfortable and can be worn with so much. That is very important since these shoes are for my 13 year old daughter and she is very particular about the shoes she wears and comfort. It’s very hard to find shoes for her that provide the support and comfort these do and a style she likes. I love that she can wear them in casual everyday situations as well as with a dress or skirt for dressing up. They are a little big for her but not by much so in the summer when it’s hot and her feet swell a bit, they will still be very comfortable. The silver color goes with everything. They are definitely worth the money I paid for them since she will definitely wear these all the time the entire summer and through fall.

I hated these shoes for about two weeks, but now I love them. I had a pair of Birkenstocks for twelve years and they finally died earlier this summer. I agonized over my new pair. I really didn’t want to pay almost $100 for sandals, but I wanted sandals with little to no heel, that were casual but somewhat feminine, and I HATE flipflops… So my options were limited. These, though expensive, fit the bill (and, incidentally, for a much lower bill than from Zappo’s).
These birks are significantly more dainty and feminine than my last pair. The soft footbed is nice because my foot doesn’t slip as much when I walk and I have a bit more cushioning. They’ve got decent arch support but aren’t so high that they’re uncomfortable. My feet are a little on the narrow side, but the medium width fits me just fine when the straps are on the tightest hole. I usually wear size 8.5, sometimes 9. I got size 39 in these because my old pair (size 40) was a little big and clunky. My right foot fits perfectly in these, but the left is just a teensy bit small – if I stretch out my toes a lot, the tips touch the rim of the shoe. But it doesn’t affect wearability at all, and other than that, they’re perfect.
Here’s the caveat. They have to be fully broken in before they’re comfortable. For the first few days, just wearing them to and from work was painful. Socks helped, but not completely. Eventually, the leather softened, the cork molded, and the blisters faded and they met all expectations. But for those first two weeks, they were a nightmare.
In terms of wear and tear, I can’t say a whole lot because I’ve only had them for about a month now. But if my last pair of birks is any indication, it’ll be at least another decade before I have to break in a new pair.
Decent price, great shoe. Really happy.

My wife has had a pair of Birkies for 3 or 4 years and loves them. But for simple looking sandals, they are not inexpensive. Since I love Amazon, she asked me to find a pair for less than the 90 plus dollars they normally cost. Previously, I’d vowed not to buy shoes from Amazon because of an earlier experience buying Morrell walking shoes. Footwear varies so much from pair to pair, that unless you try them on in a store and then order that precise pair online, you are likely to be displeased. I feel like such a jerk doing that. Then along came Amazon’s satisfaction guaranteed policy, paying return shipping on footwear that displeases for any reason. We found these Birkies for less than $70 and the fit was perfect. Unfortunately, I then was asked if we could order another. Luckily they wear like iron so we’ll wait until these wear down! Love your new policy, Amazon; it takes the high risk of return shipping payments out of buying footwear from you. Hope the policy sustains.

These are the longest-lasting and most comfortable shoes you will ever find. I love the Birkenstocks I got 17 years ago (at costco for about forty dollars amazingly– those were the late 1990s though). But, they are starting to wear out in one place: under my right big toe. And you know, I think they would still be wearable except that back then I got 37s even though I wear 38. I remember my toes coming right up to the front of the shoe and thinking it would be fine, and it was, because the shoe molds to your foot and your walking patterns so it quickly accommodated my toes even when they extended out during a step–but I think to the detriment of the structural stability in that case, since the material had to extend toward the front, over the edge of the sole– of course they still did last 17 years of constant, 4-season use (I wear socks with them and use them as indoor shoes during the times I can’t wear them as sandals)! If you read reviews of Birkenstock shoes everyone will tell you to size down, because if you order your real size there will be a little bit of room around your toes when you stand normally. I believe this is intentional though, and also important as your foot changes shape slightly as you walk. In my case it may have made my original pair last another several years. As it is I still wear them around the house, but I am excited about this new pair. This time I first ordered a 37 again, but exchanged them for 38N and am really happy I did. By the way, since this is a unisex shoe, N is the normal width for women, unless you have wide feet. Unfortunately a lot of the styles amazon.ca carries are only available in M, which is actually wide. My original pair are M, but this new pair fit much better.

Im a size 9 so i got the 39 with the little foot just outlined not filled in so guess thats normal width. I went with that because i also purchased a few weeks ago the madrid birk in the eva material as a 39 with the little foot filled in which i guess is narrow width. The madrid fit great length wise and i was at the max width wise so i ordered this one the normal width instead since the sole is less pliable then the eva one. This shoe fits great width wise now but it is a little bit too long, but only a little, so basically when i am walking around in it my heel doesnt rest fully in the heel cup but its pretty close. Its so close that i am guessing that if i returned it and went down a size i am afraid it might be too small then. So i am just keeping these the way they are. And believe me i have no complaints at all about them. I love them, soooo comfortable. I admit it did take about a week of wearing them to have my foot adjust to it. My feet were both swollen alot where my arch is and hurt a bit while they were adjusting, i almost gave up and sent them back but i kept telling myself thats what 36 years of flip flops and sneakers will get ya. Sooooo glad i pushed thru it because my feet knees and back love me for it now!!!! The swelling went down and my feet are a new happy normal now! This past weekend i wore them to a fair walking around all day at least 6 hours worth, chasing after 2 kiddos in 90 degree plus heat and let me tell ya, i not once ever thought to myself wow my feet hurt, even at the end of the day i was like this is amazing my feet dont hurt and neither do my knees or calfs, they didnt even feel fatiged! Birks got it goin on i cant believe i waited so long to get a pair. They arent cheap but you definetly get what you pay for and then some!!!

I haven’t had a pair of Birkenstocks for several years because I wore out my last pair, so I was hoping they would be as comfortable as the old ones. They are great. I have wide feet, but not large feet, so I love the fit. I also have high arches, so I love the arch support. I had some other sandals that had a back strap and I always got a red mark on the top of my foot from the top strap. I never have that kind of problem with the Birkenstocks. I don’t know why I waited so long to get a new pair, but I am glad I finally did. This design is classy enough that my teenaged daughter is not embarrassed to be seen with me in public when I wear them!
